Gas Engineering

Using the energy that surrounds us, adding a little more can produce enough heating and hot water for a domestic/ small/ commercial property.

The house fridge

The easiest way to understand how a heat pump works is by thinking about a fridge. The space inside the fridge is cold and the coils at the back of the fridge are warm. The moving moving fluid (refrigerant) Is taking the heat the heat out of the fridge and expelling it from the coils at the rear of the fridge.

The technology surrounding ‘ heat pumps’ has been used for many years in countries like Germany, Sweden and Austria. Infact in Sweden, where average temperatures in winter are much colder than the U.K, most domestic properties use heat pump technology to supply heating and hot water.

   Types of Heat Pump

Air source heat pumps- taking heat from the outside ambient air. (To -25c).

This is an exciting new field for energy engineering. As energy costs rise there will be a greater demand for this type of proven technology.

Some electricity suppliers have special reduced rates for heat pump technology.
